How to Add a Store Locator to Wix
If your business has physical locations — shops, showrooms, service points, stockists, pickup spots — the single most useful thing you can add to your Wix site is a store locator: an interactive map where visitors type in their city and instantly see the nearest place to find you, complete with opening hours, contact details, and a directions button.
In this guide you'll set one up on Wix in about 10 minutes using the Store Seek store locator app — no coding, no map API keys, and no credit card: the free plan is enough to get your first locations live.
Why not just embed a Google Map?
A plain map embed shows pins, and that's it. A proper store locator does the job your visitors actually came for:
- Search by address or city. Visitors type where they are, and the list re-sorts by distance with a "~2 km away" label on every location.
- Full location details. Each pin opens a panel with the address, phone, email, website link, description, photo, and per-day opening hours.
- One-tap directions. A directions button hands the visitor straight to turn-by-turn navigation on their phone.
- A real mobile experience. On phones the location list becomes a slide-over drawer and hours open as a bottom sheet — not a squished desktop map.
- No Google Maps billing. Store Seek renders OpenStreetMap-based vector tiles out of the box, so you never need to create a Google Cloud account or paste in an API key.
Step 1 — Install Store Seek from the Wix App Market
Open the Store Seek listing in the Wix App Market and click Add to Site. That's the whole setup: there's no separate account to create, no API key to paste, and no configuration wizard. The app connects to your Wix site automatically the moment it's installed.

Step 2 — Add your locations
Locations are managed from the app dashboard: in your Wix dashboard go to Apps → Store Seek and click Add location. For each location you can fill in:
- Name and address — the only two required fields
- Description — a sentence about what this location offers
- Website link with a custom label, plus email and phone (rendered as tappable mailto: and tel: links)
- Opening hours — per-weekday open/closed with from/to times, shown to visitors in the location panel
- A location photo and a highlighted pin to make flagship locations stand out (both on the Pro plan and up)
Here's the part that saves the most time: geocoding is automatic. You just type the street address, and the app resolves it to map coordinates for you. No hunting down latitude and longitude values.

Step 3 — Or bulk-import everything from a CSV
If you have more than a handful of locations, don't add them one by one. The dashboard has CSV import and export on every plan, including Free. Export your locations from a spreadsheet, an old locator app, or your POS system, and upload the file.
The importer is more capable than most:
- Only Name and Address columns are required — every other field is optional.
- Opening hours import too via Hours_Mon … Hours_Sun columns.
- Re-imports update instead of duplicating. Rows are matched by name and address, so you can keep one master spreadsheet and re-upload it whenever things change.
- Addresses are geocoded during import, with a progress bar as the file processes — or include your own Latitude/Longitude columns to skip geocoding entirely.
- Translations come along for the ride. Columns like Name_fr or Description_de let you provide per-language location names and descriptions for multilingual sites.

Step 4 — Make the map match your brand
In the dashboard's Map settings you customize the widget next to a live preview, so you see every change before you save it:
- Marker color — pick your brand color for the pins, plus a separate highlighted marker color for featured locations (Pro)
- Map style — Light, Grayscale, or White, so the map sits quietly under your site design
- Distance unit — kilometers or miles for the "~X away" labels
- Search placeholder and directions button label — write them in your own words (or your own language)
- Gesture handling — require Ctrl+scroll / two fingers to zoom, so the map never hijacks page scrolling
- Marker clustering — group nearby pins into numbered clusters at low zoom levels, which keeps maps with hundreds of locations readable (Business plan)
Settings apply to the live widget as soon as you save — no need to touch the editor again.

Step 5 — Add the map widget to a page
In the Wix Editor, open the page where the locator should live (a dedicated "Find us" or "Store locator" page works best), then add the Store Seek widget from your installed apps like any other Wix element.
Inside the editor the widget shows a live preview with a few sample locations, so you can position and size it before you've added any real data. Drag it to roughly full page width — a store locator deserves room to breathe — and adjust the height to taste.

Step 6 — Publish and test like a visitor
Publish your site, open the locator page, and run through the visitor flow:
- Search for a city or address — the list should re-sort by distance and the map should jump to the results.
- Open a location — check the hours, phone, and website details read the way you want.
- Tap the directions button — it opens turn-by-turn navigation to that location.
- Try it on your phone — the list becomes a slide-over drawer so the map keeps the full width.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Google Maps API key?
No. The map runs on OpenStreetMap-based vector tiles served by the app, so there is nothing to sign up for and no usage billing to worry about.
Will it slow down my Wix site?
No. The widget is a small, self-contained element that loads only on the page you place it on, and the location list is virtualized so even hundreds of locations scroll smoothly.
Can I show different languages?
Location content — names, descriptions, and website labels — can be translated per language using the CSV translation columns, and the search placeholder and button labels are free-text fields you can write in any language.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Your locations are kept for 30 days after uninstall in case you change your mind, then permanently deleted. The widget itself never tracks your visitors or sets tracking cookies.
I also run a Shopify store — can I get the same locator there?
Yes — the same locator is available for Shopify. See our guide on how to create a store locator for Shopify.
